First Introduction to India Traditions

First Introduction to India Traditions

As per our traditions and according to the Grahya Sutras, the mundana should take place at the end of first year or before the expiry of the third year.

We have done it for two reasons:
First; they will be turning 1 very soon.
Second; they had less n thin hair since birth because of premature birth.
๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿ‘ถ
A beautiful reason of "mundana" as given by my bestie-
"the hair from birth is associated with undesirable traits from past lives. Thus at the time of the mundana, the child is freshly shaven to signify freedom from the past and moving into the future.'"

โ˜‘๏ธA tip from my side:
Once head shave is done-- a mix of Curd, milk and turmeric should be applied on head which works as antiseptic and moisturizer to keep the baby safe from cuts if any.โ˜‘๏ธ
